"What I love about UpCounsel is that they have provided big firm lawyers with big firm expertise, at much more reasonable rates. They help me to fill important gaps where larger firms often can’t compete on pricing."

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who are the lawyers on UpCounsel?

Lawyers on UpCounsel represent the finest law schools, law firms, and companies in the country (and throughout the world). All verified attorneys have also passed our thorough screening process, through which we verify their background and their license to practice law.

  • When do I pay my lawyers?

Lawyers will submit invoices via UpCounsel upon completion of the work, though in some cases, lawyers may request a portion of the legal fees and/or filing fees prior to commencing work. The specifics of a lawyer's fee structure will be provided for in the initial proposal.

  • Are there any additional fees to use UpCounsel?

No. You only pay for completed legal work. Certain legal projects will have mandatory local, state, or federal filings fees which will be built into attorney proposals.
