I gained substantial legal experience working as a law clerk in the New York State court system. In my position as the Principal Law Clerk to a Justice, I worked on a broad range of legal disputes involving commercial contracts, the UCC, piercing the corporate veil, injured workers, motor vehicle negligence, property damage, vicarious liability, property owner liability, insurance coverage, intentional torts, real property and foreclosures. My primary responsibilities included researching and drafting proposed decisions and orders on all applications made to the court, including dispositive motions, trial decisions, evidentiary rulings, discovery disputes, emergency applications and hearings. In addition, I was tasked with guiding parties through settlement negotiations in each stage of litigation; in this role, I achieved great success in assisting parties in developing and ultimately reaching amicable resolutions to their disputes. Finally, I interviewed and managed all of the students that take part in our internship program, which included 18 and 15 during the 2010 and 2011 summers, respectively.
