Ted’s journey begins in 1994 when he established the Ted L. Smith & Associates, PLLC, which provides comprehensive legal services related to real estate and business law. Ted is also a licensed real estate broker in Mississippi and Texas. As a licensed land broker, he specializes in commercial, residential, and land real estate sales and development. Ted leveraged his legal skills in contract formulation and negotiation and has generated significant revenue over the past decade.
Back in 2000, Ted founded American Southern Title, LLC and ran it for ten years. The company provided comprehensive real estate transaction services. This is where Ted used his entrepreneurial expertise to develop new business and the structure to support it, hire a top-flight staff, build strong banking relationships, and expand the business through negotiation, branding, and marketing.

⎯ Founded Sun Developers, LLC in the southeast U.S., which has developed several major real estate projects throughout Mississippi and Alabama, including a 129 -unit single-family home development in Northpointe, MS.
⎯ Grew Sun Billboards, LLC from inception and successfully led it to profitability through the establishment of 110 billboards in Alabama and Mississippi.
⎯ Earlier in his career Ted served as the VP of Marketing and Business Development for Citizens, Inc. in Austin, TX where he was responsible for negotiation and promoting business relationships throughout several emerging markets, including China, Taiwan, Jamaica, South Africa, and the Philippines.
Ted Smith has more than 30 years of sales, business development, and real estate experience, both in and out of the practice of law. His combination of involvement on “both sides of the table” has provided the opportunity to build a unique and valuable service to those he advises. As a salesman and business owner, he has leveraged his marketing expertise to enhance market share and profitability. As an attorney, Ted has brought professional legal advice to many clients. For example, he advocated for victims of the BP Deepwater Horizon Spill, responsible for over $50 million in client claims.
Ted is an avid fisherman and hunter, as well as a private pilot. He resides in Jackson, Ms , and has five grown children. Ted is also a football enthusiast and a fan of Baylor and Ole Miss.
