One aspect of my job was acting as chief counsel for TeleTech’s software/technology/services start-up businesses/subsidiaries, including TeleTech OnDemand (hosted contact center software, services, SaaS business) and InCulture (hosted translation services).
In this role, I was involved in the new businesses from the bottom up, including product and services development, acquiring IP necessary to deliver the products and services, developing customer license and services agreements, developing and negotiating alliance agreements and protecting the business intellectual property.
In addition, I was the IP attorney for the parent organization involved in all worldwide IP matters, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets. I helped develop the company’s first patent program, and greatly expanded and implement TeleTech’s worldwide trademark program.
I also was the chief counsel for the strategic sourcing/procurement department, drafting and negotiating all key vendor agreements, revising all standard agreements, and assisting the department in implementing new legal review and contracting process to better protect the company.
