While in law school, James served as an associate editor of the Journal for Business, Entrepreneurship and the Law and was a business and legal affairs intern for Comedy Central and a foreign film sales agency. Before attending law school, James was a corporate paralegal for two global financial firms in New York City. James also owned and operated a retail clothing business in New York City for over three years before pursuing his legal career.
James received his J.D. and Certificate in Entrepreneurship and the Law from Pepperdine University School of Law in May 2010. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television Production from New York University in January 1999.

James received the Witkin Academic Excellence Award and the Cali Excellence Award in Entrepreneurship and the Law and the Los Angeles Copyright Society Paul Miller Award in Copyright and Entertainment Law.
MEMBERSHIPS AND ACTIVITIES
James is admitted to practice in California and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
