Margaret Cartaya Seago

Upon graduating from law school in 2009 I began working as a solo practitioner. From 2010 to 2014 I worked primarily at a creditor's law firm with a litigation intense practice. However, I was able to grow my client base and was step out on my own again in 2014. Currently my practice focuses on real estate issues, quiet titles, landlord-tenant disputes, civil litigation, and family law.

While at Sher & Shabsin I had the opportunity to make regular court appearances, argue motions, and conduct trials for the benefit of clients. I obtained over $500,000.00 in judgments, and assisted in the collection process. Further I pursued delinquent mortgages through foreclosure.Equally important was negotiating settlements on behalf of clients, and overseeing adherence to terms.

Volunteering with Legal Services of Eastern Missouri has proven to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. My focus was on end of life planning, powers of attorney, living wills/medical directives, small estates, nonprobate transfer of property, as well as drafting and review of documents.
