About
Since admission to the bar in Michigan in 2003, I have spent my career handling appeals, primarily in malpractice and other personal-injury litigation. I have extensive experience in legal research and writing as well as in handling appeals before the state intermediate-appellate and supreme courts and in the federal appellate courts. I also have experience in insurance-coverage analysis.

As an appellate lawyer, I have extensive experience in drafting strong yet accessible briefs and other legal documents and can assist in writing and editing brief, memoranda, contracts, and other documents.

"I had the pleasure of working with Geoff from 2005-2015. During that time, we retained Geoff to work on very difficult medical malpractice issues. We asked Geoff to handle almost all of our appellate cases. Geoff would get involved at the trial court level post-verdict and remain throughout the pendency of the appeal. Geoff’s research and writing was excellent. He exhibited great analytical thinking and his writing was concise and very persuasive. I attended quite a few of his oral arguments and he was always well prepared, handled questions professionally and was excellent in presenting our arguments. I was always very impressed with Geoff’s work ethic and am extremely confident in his abilities. In short, I highly recommend Geoff."

"Geoff thoroughly reviewed the proposed contract and pointed out several areas of concern that could potentially expose me to significant risk or make it harder for me to earn a living in my profession. He explained to me what these clauses meant, why I should firmly argue against them, and coached me on what to say when negotiating with the agency. In the end, the agency either removed or changed all of the areas of concern."
