Served as a focal contact to independent television and theatrical production companies from inception to post-production on production issues including copyright, lien filings, contract interpretation and drafting, bond returns and residual payments.
Researched and identified UCC/USCO liens and security interests in picture rights, analyzed complex chain-of-title documentation (i.e. assignments, writer/director agreements, production services agreements, sales agency/distribution agreements, and operating agreements), drafted analysis memos, and collaborated with internal departments and other Guilds to promote SAG’s security interests in pictures.
Facilitated dispute resolution and enforcement of the collective bargaining agreement between producers and SAG members. Handled all related investigation and settlement of claims and partnered closely with in-house counsel when arbitration was required.
