Assisted in-house legal counsel with its sizable trademark portfolio. Wrote responses to U.S. office actions and responses to oppositions containing legal arguments for publishing. Policed Brookstone's trademarks searching the U.S.P.T.O., U.S. Official Gazette, search engines, phone book directories, online registries, as well as online legal sources, such as LexisNexis and WestLaw. Discussed with Brookstone's marketers appropriate names for new products based on my administered trademark clearances. Drafted cease and desist letters as well as co-existence agreements to manage phonetically similarly trademarks. Reviewed and edited Brookstone contracts, removing unfavorable clauses and reducing the agreements to meet the company's needs.

Worked with professors and other students representing indigent clients. Conducted client interviews and deciphered the client’s legal problems. Used LexisNexis and WestLaw to help prepare legal memorandums for clients to discuss potential legal actions and concerns. Represented small businesses and inventors regarding their intellectual property needs.

Drafted complaints containing causes of action for negligence, negligent hiring, loss of consortium, strict liability in tort, breach of warranty, misbranding, among others. Drafted motions, interrogatories, and memorandums for partners and associates involving issues in tort, contracts, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, and insurance.

Assembled exhibits and assisted attorneys in trial. Met with clients to discuss potential litigation. Wrote research memorandums to partners and associates. Drafted motions for summary judgment as well as briefs in support of motions.
