Grew up moving between Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. High School Valedictorian in Simi Valley. Full academic scholarship to U. of Redlands, graduating with degrees in both psychology and philosophy. Three years as an escrow officer in Los Angeles, then law school at U.C. Davis, School of Law, graduating Order of the Coif (top 10%) in 1997. For over six years I worked in Las Vegas at the largest and most prestigious firm in the state, representing mostly developers and casinos, but also some Fortune 500 companies, wealthy individuals, and celebrities. In 2006, I began practicing law in the San Fernando Valley and since then I have represented mostly health care entities, but also some professional licensees. In addition to litigation, I am experienced with appeals and administrative cases. I can analyze business practices for potential exposure to civil or administrative liability. My years doing contract litigaiton has also given me a keen eye for problematic issues when contracts are drafted. My history as an escrow officer makes me particularly sensitive to issues in the real estate industry. I also play guitar, write songs and write stories, and am interested in gaining clientele in the entertainment industry.
At present, I have over 13 years of civil litigation experience, about half involving business disputes and half involving torts; I have worked both sides of cases (plaintiffs-side and defense-side); I have worked cases at all stages from intake and early settlement negotiations to trial and appeal. My clients receive a quality of work-product equivalent to what may cost $800 per hour from a top firm. As a part-time solo practitioner with nominal overhead, I am able to offer my services at rates that may seem cheap even for insurance defense firms, without sacrificing quality. I also offer a free one hour consultation so a potential client can feel assured I am able to address the legal matter they have in mind.
