At UpCounsel, we’re always looking for cost-effective ways to increase our efficiency and save time. Luckily, there are a myriad of wonderful tools available that help us do just that. From programs that help us manage our emails to services for data organization, here are five products that we’re thankful for this Thanksgiving.

1. UpWork

Jeff ChenFor UpCounsel SEO Manager Jeff Chen, UpWork is a lifesaver. Like UpCounsel, this online marketplace allows users to post a job and browse through the profiles of hundreds of vetted freelancers. Freelancers offering their valuable services on UpWork include web developers, mobile developers, writers, virtual assistants, customer service agents, graphic designers, accountants and more! Jeff uses UpWork to manage multiple freelance writers working on a high volume of projects for him. He likes how UpWork provides a single platform where all of the writers can upload drafts and where he can easily track spend to make sure he’s on budget. The dashboard, he says, shows him everything he needs to know.

Erin BreenBehind this complicated acronym, which stands for “If This Then That,” is a service that UpCounsel data analyst Erin Breen swears by. IFTTT allows users to set up conditional statements, or “applets,” that are triggered by new developments that occur within other services, such as Gmail, Skype or Pinterest. Want your phone’s WiFi to turn off automatically when you leave home to save battery? IFTTT has you covered. Want your Facebook photos to flow into Dropbox instantaneously? Look no further than IFTTT! Erin says when she was looking for an apartment in (the very competitive) San Francisco market, she used IFTT to alert her to new listings that fit her requirements.

3. Looker [not free]

Stephanie RyanUpCounsel Growth Analyst and data lover Stephanie Ryan is thankful for Looker, a flexible platform that gives companies a seemingly limitless number of ways to store, organize, visualize, compare and manipulate data. Even more impressive is that despite its astounding capabilities, Looker’s interface is very user-friendly, enabling even the least tech-savvy team members to access and analyze the company’s data. This saves the data and growth teams countless hours because the entire team can use data to measure the success of their projects on their own. Erin recently spoke at a Looker Conference on Achieving Positive ROAS. Stay tuned for a blog post on the topic from Erin.

4. Boomerang

Steve PalomboFor UpCounsel Sales Analyst Steve Palombo, there’s rarely a dull moment. He’s always juggling emails to and from dozens of potential customers, and his days can get hectic. That’s why he needs Boomerang, a service that integrates with Gmail. Write an email and schedule it to be sent later or set a reminder to follow up if an important email doesn’t receive a response. Boomerang means Steve doesn’t have to create a complex spreadsheet to track follow-ups, and his emails have a higher response rate. There’s no better way to clear your plate of mundane tasks and make way for the important ones!

Jaya PareekHave a messy inbox? There’s an app for that. Well, there’s a lot of them, but UpCounsel Product Manager Jaya Pareek swears by Unroll.Me. This free service consolidates all of your email subscriptions into one email, delivered once a day at the time of your choosing. Moreover, Unroll.Me allows you to easily unsubscribe from unwanted emails without searching for that tiny “unsubscribe” button buried within the fine print. When Jaya signed up for Unroll.Me, she says the app went through her inbox and automatically found all of her subscriptions. Then all she had to do was swipe whether she wanted to “Unsubscribe,” “Roll Up” or keep as is.

And of course, our absolute favorite tool to save time? UpCounsel! Even for those outside of the legal industry, UpCounsel is a go-to tool to manage contracts with freelance writers, or interns like this one!
